2021 Rivulet Burnside Pinot Noir
2021 Rivulet Burnside Pinot Noir
"Grown on a vineyard on the edge of the Coal River Valley. 40% whole bunches. Beautifully flavoured, made and presented. Winemaker Keira O’Brien is a serious talent. This is alive with woodsy spice, forest berries, woodsmoke and juniper-like flavour, but really the magic is in the interplay, in the balance of treble and bass. It has both lift and grunt, the combination of dry spice and dry tannin the perfect way to close."

"Bright cherry red with notes of spiced cherry, red plum and wild strawberry. Underlined with soft spice, purple flowers, earth, red licorice and gentle oak nuance. Purely fruited, with just the merest hint of forest floor, fine-grained tannins in support and bright acidity pushing forward to a medium-length finish that’s flush with spicy cherry and red fruit."
- 93 points. Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
Grown by Tim Dunbabin and Hannah Gamble at the Burnside vineyard in Orielton in the Coal River Valley. This site sits at the edge of the Coal River Valley, where the East Coast meets and ripens relatively late, producing intensely flavoured Pinot Noir with excellent stem ripeness.
Handpicked fruit with 40% whole bunches and the remainder gently destemmed over the top allowing for partial carbonic fermentation. Cold soaked for four days with gentle pump overs. Pressed off after five days post ferment maceration and racked to French oak barriques for ten months maturation on fine lees, with 25% new oak.
Total production 900 bottles.
